This Japanese Red Pine is also known as the Dragon's Eye pine. Each needle has 2 yellow bands and when viewed from above you see alternating bands of yellow and green "like the eye of a dragon". 'Oculus Draconis' matures to become a very gracefully if irregular shaped small pine. We like to candle prune when young to keep the plant more dense.
